Terms of Service
Last updated: 13 July 2026
These terms govern your use of CutOvia β the Windows video editor and this website. By creating an account or using the software, you agree to them.
The service
CutOvia is a video editor that runs on your own Windows PC. Editing, rendering and export happen locally on your device β your video files are never uploaded to our servers. The software is free to use; a paid Premium licence unlocks Pro effects, transitions, assets and features.
Your account
You need an account to buy and activate Premium. Give an email address you control, keep your password safe, and stay responsible for what happens under your account. We may suspend accounts used for fraud, licence-key resale, or attempts to bypass licensing.
Licence to use the software (EULA)
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use CutOvia on devices you control (Premium: up to 2 devices). You may not resell, rent, sublicense or share licence keys, and you may not circumvent the licensing system. Everything you create is yours: you keep full rights to your projects and exported videos, including commercial use. This licence covers CutOvia itself β bundled open-source components are governed by their own licences (see Licences).
Your files and content
Your media stays on your computer β we never receive it, so we cannot see, review or recover it. You are responsible for holding the rights to the footage, music and images you edit, and for what you publish with them.
Payments and licence activation
Prices are shown in US dollars and paid in cryptocurrency. Each order shows an exact amount and a network; your licence activates automatically once that network confirms the payment. Blockchain transactions are irreversible and outside our control: sending on the wrong network, to the wrong address, or an amount we cannot match may result in permanent loss that nobody β including us β can reverse. We never take custody of your wallet.
Refunds
Premium is digital content, delivered the moment your payment is confirmed. By accepting these Terms and placing an order, you expressly request that we begin delivery immediately, and you acknowledge that you thereby lose your statutory right of withdrawal once delivery begins. As a goodwill policy we still consider refunds within 14 days if Premium was never activated on any device. Every request is reviewed and approved manually β see the Refund Policy for the full rules.
Open-source components
CutOvia ships with third-party open-source software, including FFmpeg under the GNU GPL v3. Those components are licensed under their own terms, and nothing in these Terms limits the rights those licences give you β including your right to obtain their source code. See the Licences page.
Warranty and liability
The software is provided βas isβ, without warranties beyond those the law requires. Nothing here removes your mandatory consumer rights β including the remedies for defective or undelivered digital content under EU Directive 2019/770 and equivalent laws. Where liability can lawfully be limited, ours is capped at what you paid us in the past 12 months.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top always shows the current version; significant changes will be announced on this site.
